Boxers or briefs?
Boxers or briefs? A question most women will have to face sooner or later. Let's face it, unless your partner is a "new man" or a "metro"... he will be using the underwear mommy bought him until it is falling apart with tears and holes!
At some point in the line of your relationship it becomes YOUR task to choose his underwear. This happens sooner if you are fed up of seeing "Rudolph the red nosed reindeer" every time he takes his jeans off, or later if the last girlfriend had some taste and forced him to wear CK or DKNY undies. In any event, it will be up to you to keep your Romeo looking sexy.
The most obvious thing to do, before buying him underwear, is to ask him what he likes, as it might not be the same as what he is currently wearing. Some men, are very traditional and will not wear anything but their favourite type of undies; while others, more adventurous, will vary their undies according to the activity they are planning and the clothes they are going to wear. However, if your man goes for leopard print briefs, pretend you didn't hear him... or even better, look for another man!

Boxer shorts
Most of us are familiar with the all-around-elastic shorts. They have the advantage of offering completely free leg movement. I am a fan of boxer shorts because you can find them in all variety of styles, materials, prints and designs to fit best your Romeo.
I believe they are the most flattering style of underwear. Most boxer shorts have an opening in the front. The opening can be closed with a button or left alone as the design allows for the material to overlap and fully cover the opening.
Advantages:
- In an emergency if the guy has to run away wearing only his undies, at least they can pass as shorts.
- They hide quite a large area so there is room for imagination.
- They have plenty of room for nature's works.
Briefs
The Jockey-style briefs appeared in the late 1930s. Personally, I cannot think about briefs without thinking about Homer Simpson! But having a quick look at the latest trends it appears that briefs are not that "bad" at all anymore. Brands like CK, DKNY, 2exist and Cin2 have made briefs fashionable and I must admit -with effort- sexy.
The classic brief is an underwear staple. If you're looking for the perfect brief to stock up on, start buying the 100% cotton essential that's super soft and easy to wear.
Boxer briefs
The original boxer briefs were made popular by Calvin Klein, with his impossible-to-miss advertising campaign with massive billboards with pictures of Mark Wahlberg in just a pair of boxer briefs.
Boxer-briefs are longer than regular briefs, but are fitted so men feel more comfortable: A compromise between boxers and briefs. They are mostly worn by the sporty man as they offer good support but look sexy. They look great in well built bodies.

Materials
My favourite material for men's underwear is silk. I think they offer style and luxury as they have a seductive quality. Any man who wants to attract attention with style and sensual details wants to slip into silk, a fun and sexy alternative to traditional cotton underwear.

Obviously everybody cheered for him to wear it, which he did to have a dip in the pool. I cannot remember which was redder, his face or his bottom cheeks ! Most of my girlfriends find it a turn on to speculate whether a guy is wearing anything under his kilt and every little glimpse under it seems to bring them into a frenzy!
What size?
This is actually the most difficult part about buying underwear for your other half. Sizes vary from country to country and from brand to brand. Also because of the different styles in pants today, sizing varies according to cut and designer. To make sure that the underwear fits the way it should and that you he will be as comfortable as possible, take a few minutes to take some measurements and find the right size for him. You'll need a soft tape measure, and believe me... this can be fun!

Princessa, what a great hub, however you did leave out women's lingerie for men. I find wearing womens panties very comfortable, sensual, and exhilarating especially when in the company of women. My girlfriend and I go shopping together and we even have matching sets of panties and bras. I too dislike the traditional "tighty whites" cotton briefs, and ventured out into the nylon, satin and silks of womens wear. Maybe the Scottish are wearing panties under their kilts!

Thats right, I am spoiled in that my wife makes her own clorhes as well as her sleepwear and lingerie, added to that, the perfect fit tangas for me.
You can find comfortable, cotton thongs at any department store, Target in particular. They come in every color and size. Any guy that says that he cannot find them, simply is not looking.

My wife asked me to try a thong a few years ago. I agreed a bought two pairs. I was surprised at how comfortable and supportive they were - far more so than the boxer briefs I had been wearing for years. I bought more and soon switched to wearing thongs and g-strings all the time. I love the fact that my wife likes me wearing them and couldn't wear anthing else now.

I also like it that my man wears thongs although he already wore them when I met him - I didn't ask him to wear them! I was a bit surprised when I found out that he always wore a thong as not many men wear them (as far as I know!), and he's quite conservative. He mostly wears Hom Plume g-strings which are extremely skimpy but he has a good body and looks sexy in them.

I also wear g-strings. I tried them out of intrigue and immediately appreciated the support they gave. I also felt much more sexy wearing them. Not many men wear them but maybe one day they will become more mainstream - after all few women wore g-strings 20 years ago but they are very popular now.
I am a bit self conscuous when a new girlfriend finds out that I wear thongs but I haven't had a bad reaction yet. My current girlfriend was initially surprised but likes it and she's even bought me a few pairs.
