Most of us will be invited to family gatherings, office Christmas do's and even children's school events for Christmas and of course we all want to look our best. We are all looking for that special outfit that will boost our confidence because it suits us like a glove, it hides the extra pounds gained during the festive season and it enhances our curves giving us an alluring look. If You Want To Buy Plus Size Christmas Dresses In Town

If you prefer to buy your Christmas outfits in town, I would advise you to do it now. If you leave it for later you might be stuck for sizes or colours. If you do not want to spend too much money over your Christmas outfit, I would recommend taking your accessories (shoes, cardigans, scarves, etc) to the shop to try with your dress. If not, remember how many times you bought an outfit to wear with those dark purple high heels -all the rage at the start of the season- which you still have not worn yet because none of your dresses go with it!

What To Choose:

Dresses are ideal for festive occasions. Accessorized correctly, a working dress can easily be worn for a night out with co-workers. Choose classic and simple lines for a stunning look. You can easily go to work in the morning with a black dress and a cardigan on top and change your look for night time with a gold or silver scarf, some jewellery to add glamour and of course, a pair of high heels to make you look taller and instantly more glamorous.

Choose simple cuts and designs, like a basic wrap dress, but add the festive touch with a luxurious material such as velvet or cashmere to add warmth. Do not be afraid to mix materials for added texture. A velvet dress with silk trimmings will look stunning.

Some plus size women are scared to wear colours such as red dresses. You do not need to stick to black. Choosing the correct cut and a dark tone of red or purple can be the answer to adding colour to your wardrobe.

If you are too concerned about going bold in red, why not try some red accents? You could wear a black dress with a bright red scarf to illuminate your face. Or some red shoes and handbag. A little red cardigan will immediately bring brightness to any outfit.

Bright Colors and Prints Will Call Unnecessary Attention To Your Shape And Make You Look Bigger

Do you really think so? Look at the woman above. She is wearing prints and bright colours. Do you think she looks bigger than what she might actually be? I don't think so.

“There are no rules when it comes to color—just make sure it complements your complexion,” says Amy Spivok-Richman, a Macy’s group vice president who oversees the plus-size category for the department store. Even bright red can be slimming if you wear the right cut for your body in the right material. Don't be afraid of red, just make sure that:

  • It complements your complexion
  • Wear the right cut for your body shape
  • Wear light body skimping materials that will not cling to your body.
