A few months ago, in April 2010, the French ELLE magazine launched its first ever plus size issue featuring plus size model Tara Lynn. Just look at the Elle cover on the right, Tara looks sublime wearing a white “combisuit”.
Ordinarily you would not have thought that an all white look would suit a plus size figure, but as you can see, worn with the right accessories the white look can also be worn by plus size women.
Pay attention to the accessories. See the contrasting brown high heel shoes; they add height making Tara look slimmer. The thin belt emphasizes her waist line giving her an hourglass shape, defining her waist. The oversized handbag in contrasting colour also adds to the overall look. I'm so out of it, fashion wise! LOL I haven't worn a dress in ages, let alone a white one. I do have a white tank that I love, but I usually wear a patterned shirt to go over it. Pamela: Thank you. I just love wearing white in summer. It was difficult when my children were younger, I couldn't managed to wear white whitout ending the day with little hand prints in the funniest colours lol. Now that they are older I have gone back to wearing white, and I am loving it!
Specialk374: LOL Before you buy a white dress try wearing your white top with colourful silk scarfs around your neck, to see how you look. You can also try wearing chunky bright necklaces. A little crochet cardigan in a bright colour would also work well to brighten up your face and avoid the washed-out look.

Great advice on wearing white. One of my favorite ever dresses was a white dress that buttoned up the front. I am so pale though that white washes me out and I don't tan so I tend to stay away from it. I like that pantsuit look though and could try something like that!

Some people have said that it is okay to be on the plus side, from my point of view it's more then okay... I am a plus size woman and I enjoy my life the way it is, it also allows me to see who is real and who is fake people who have no problem hanging out with me are the most real people that i know. We have a great time too. We don't use drugs, don't use alcohol or any of the other stuff that a lot of skinny people are doing. I'm a tomboy on the plus size women side and I am extremely happy with who I am. I am not my weight nor is my weight who I am it's just a part of who I am, and anyone else who doesn't like who I am, well they're the ones missing out :) not me. So love life, and live it, it doesn't matter who you are, what you look like or anything else other people want to whine about, just because your Phat (Pretty Hot and Thick) doesn't mean that your unhealthy either.. in fact you may just be healthier then those skinner then you. Just love who you are, no matter what, and btw being Phat doesn't mean your not perfect just the way you are.

Lol your welcome, I could tell you a thing or two about history and plus size women and how they were recognized back then! Did you know still in a few countries today that being skinny is considered sickly? And Unhealthy? Not to mention most likely to not have children? I'm far from close minded, in fact I'm rather open minded, in my mind no person is ugly, in fact who ever said big people not just women were ugly... well that confuses me what part of them is ugly? Someone can only be ugly on the inside not on the outside, while yes some people might come off as ugly because of their personalities have people ever stopped to think that that's just because they've been stung to many times?

I really love the idea of a white dress on any skit tone they are just so gorgeous and angelic! Many top designers are designers like Prada, Chanel, Jovani, and Calvin Klein are also encorporating white into all of their pieces, especially clothing and shoes. I just love white, its so fresh and clean, and it looks great on women of any size!

Wow what a popular article. This was fun & informing. I as stated by others, am not up-to-date with fashion but I love to see great clothes on beautiful women. I was once a Plus size girl & wanted to wear things that flattered me but were chic as well. Well done.
I am size 12-14 and my husband hates it. He liked it when I was size 8. That was the unhealthy me. No matter what we wear at a certain age, we become invisible. I just wear my same old clothes and find other ways to be happy. The clothes are beautiful, but they'll have to find someone who cares. It ain't me.
