Most enjoyable read! Where do you go hunting or your huband? My husband and his father liked hunting too.

Thanks!

LadyLyell: Hi, we go hunting in the Indre department, in Tendu where we have the farm. But there are lots of places around where you can hire the land to go hunting.

Sorry Princessa, This is one "area" where you and I differ greatly.

That when arming yourself and equiping yourself with protective gear, then going in and to hunt an animal, is treated as a sport, especially now! When entire species have already been exterminated! I do not think of it as a sport.

For it to be a sport, then hunt by all means, only put yourself at the same level as the quarry!

Do it by hand, take a deer or a bushpig on in hand to "hand" combat, then that could be some form of sport.

Rodney: I understand your point. I was against hunting for a while myself, until I saw how it was practised. In France, hunting is heavily regulated and you are only able to hunt certain species and only at certain times of the year.

As I see it now, hunting (for eating) is not any worst than buying your meet at a supermarket. In a way one could argue that it is more human to hunt a bird (who has the chance to scape) than to keep chickens in cages the whole of their lives until they end up on supermarket's shelves.

I must add, however, that I am against hunting endangered species just for the fun ot it.

Princessa, I hear you and understand what you are saying.

But is not the hunt a thrill, adrenaline rush, what happens is you start off on the soft stuff, the thrill is there, but it starts to jade! Someone suggests that you go out of season and bag a "biggie"! The Rush the thrill that adrenaline high for months afterwards, as you cannot talk about, that tingle!

Then as we really are all the same, there is the experimintation, illegal loads, night shooting, it goes on and on, until one day you are no longer satisfied.

Add then the lucrative incentives off quick cash rewards for bring in certain animal parts for more than you would bringing in cocaine, weight for weight. The perks are if you are caught with animal parts you do not get life imprisonment, or the Death Penalty.

As for France Europe South Africa, those hunting seasons are regulated and you can not hunt outside those paramaters.

Tell that to the 400+ Rhinos, and other endangered species, who were shot in the past year.

As for shooting for the "pot", in reality how much of your diet is what "you shot, how much other meats are supplimented by the supermarket shelves?

Copy and paste these in your browser and have a read.

As you know me from what I have written on the cullinary side I am an Omnivore, I have as many if not more meat recipies than Vegan.

I am against hunting, as I am against Drug or Substance Abuse.

I also respect that everyone has the Right to choose there lifestyle and life choices, I may or may not agree but i reserve my right to add my two cents worth.

If I have offend you or any other readers, of this chain of comments.

It is not my intention, it is merely expressing my thoughts and feelings on a subject which is, to me rather upsetting, the Plight of the Rhinos, and other Endangered Species.

Rodney: No offence taken. Like you say we are all free to make our own choices.

Princessa,

I would rather hunt with my camera, and preserve my memories of the shot, curse the ones that got away, rejoice in that perfect capture.
